I have a theory......
I recently blew the little heater hose elbow off my 92 (actually, split it down the middle), and thought it was just old age and what have you, I had been driving it pretty hard that afternoon. But today, I was in a bit of a hurry to get to work, and noticed steam escaping from under the hood as I got out. It was leaking around my new elbow. Tightened it a little with my leatherman, but not very much.
So, I got to thinking, since I had the leak from the right front corner a while back that I cant get again, and since I am blowing steam out the hose in that nearby vicinity, could exhaust gasses be getting into the cooling system and blowing the weakest link, thus indicating the need for a head gasket? Or am I just paranoid and looking for an excuse for a thicker HG?
