How much space should there be between the front spring and the rubber bump stop?

How much space should there be between the front spring and the rubber bump stop?

My truck was to the point where I couldn't put my finger between the spring and the rubber bump stop, so I took my springs to the local spring shop and had them re-arch them and also added a leaf. Now I have about an inch and a half of clearance, but it still doesn't look like it should be enough. I was wondering how much space you guys have who put on the skyjacker 2.5" front springs...
