727/518 adjustments

I didnt want to hijack the othe r727 thread, so I created this one. cerberusiam mentioned some internal as well as external adjustments that can be made to the transmission to extend life and enhance performance. WHat exactly are those adjustments? Besides a non-stock convertor, of course. My mom is having troubles with her truck sucking fuel (16-17mpg empty- I got 20-22empty 6yrs ago), and the times I've driven it, I'd have to put the pedal halfway to the floor to maintain 60mph. Linkages are all good, cable isnt binding or loose, and I will make 22psi boost, so I'd say the fuel system is at least adequate. truck has 100K on fuel pump rebuild, 20K on injector clean and reset; <8K on tranny rebuild.
