Intake Tube Upgrade
Right after I bought this truck I put a BHAF in. It has been about a year now and it still looks pretty good, you can see light thru the element from the inside or out and no real dark spots etc. and no outerwears thingy.
I just replaced the OEM intake tube with a Garage/Shop Engineered unit I made out of aluminum tubing. I never saw 1100*+ EGT's before, now I am seeing 1250 ish when I stand on the skinny pedal. Boost pressures increased from 18-20 to 25-27lbs. I have no real worries or complaints but that boost increase surprised me...and I had some oil come out the exhaust housing when the new intake tube popped off the turbo the first test run.
I would like to put a restriction gauge on that BHAF to see if it really is still good. I would appreciate any thoughts on this folks.
