Need Help-Truck Died Today

Okay guys I need some advice. On the way to work today my truck up and died on me. Now I made it to one jobsite and it ran fine to there. When I left I started it up and took off and not less the 1 minute after start up it seemed like it began to loose rpms and it looked like it was blow out blue smoke and then it died (all this in about 10-15 seconds). I was getting on it or nothing just taking off nice and easy. It was almost like it ran out of fuel without the sputtering which it may have ( fuel gauge don't work) but I still had about a 150mi to go on that tank. Any ideas as to what I need to check other than the fuel level. Thanks in advance.
