Bad idle with A/C

My truck runs ok with the A/C on, but when I've been driving for a while on the freeway then get on the side streets sitting at a stop light it starts to idle really rough. I've even had it idle so bad the the oil light starts to flicker. Is there an adjustment for this, or does it sound like I may have a bad clutch or compressor?
