Tranney oil ratings
Ok gang, I give up. I am attempting to replace the fluid in the tranney and xfer case on my 92 W250,
Getrag and nv 205 unit. Service manual calls for 5W-30 synthetic API SG or SG/Cd in the transmission, and SAE 50 synthetic API SG/CD in the transfer case. At my local farm store there is Mobile 5w-30 synthetic, but the API rating is different than specified. For sure I waited until tonight after work to change the stuff and then could not make any sense out of the ratings on the store oil.
Please help one confused Polish guy....
