delete muffler and screw tamper cover
Did the first mods today. Took a sawsall to the exhaust, cranked the fuel screw to the limit of the stock screw stop, (at least one round) removed the high idle screw, moved the throttle linkage to the top hole. Made a heck of a difference: Thats as far as I will go til I install the gauges next week.
Next, I'm going to drain and refill the tranny with 5-30 mobil 1 syn., and an extra quart for good measure.
