Well, I should have paid better attention when the pumps were being discussed! Mine took a dump today. Was about 40 miles from home. Took off from a stop sign and saw lots of smoke and smelled diesel real strong. Pulled over and popped the hood. Saw fuel EVERY WHERE! Was squirting out of the back side of the fuel pump, about the size of your finger. Is there something on the back side that could cause this or did the pump housing split? Looked back down the road and saw a stream of fuel that followed the truck.
Thank God I have AAA Plus, got a tow back home.
Can anyone tell me the best place to get a rebuilt pump? How hard is it to change and can I guess at the timing enough to get it in to a shop for final adjustments. Don't want to take it to a Dodge Dealer, don't trust them.
I have PW injectors and have seen posts about larger HP pumps. What do I ask for when ordering the pump. What is the difference in cost from a rebuilt to a new assembly?
Really didn't need to do this right now but old Green needs that transplant! Have noticed that the truck was smoking more on a cold morning than it used to. Thought it was from the new injectors.
Tried a search but didn't find what I needed.
