Just wanted to say how great this site is!
I am on a steep learning curve with a 92 W250 LE excab, Getrag,3.54, BD exhaust and injectors, 16 housing, factory tach, pyro & boost gauges on pillar, Firestone front air bags, Goodyear rear bag, 3inch rear brake upgrade, hide away hitch in box
135kmiles. This truck has the cowl crack on right side for sure, haven't gotten to fixing that yet. Also the truck smokes more than I like, especially when cold. When warmed up only smokes when shifting or under load. Haven't messed with any adjustments yet. Max boost has been 18psi. Would like to get it timed but I haven't found anyone around here that knows what to do. Getting 17 to 18mpg hwy empty and 13 to 14mpg towing the backhoe (12klbs). Looking for any suggestions to help with the black smoke. Also wanting to know if anyone is running Biodiesel or SVO in their trucks or TDI cars. I also have a 1.9 TDI VW Passat. Thanks in advance for your help.
