squeaky front brakes

Whenever I get up to the mountains around Lincoln Montana I usually end up with a squeal coming from the front end after a day or two. It usually starts when I apply the brakes and then intermittently as I drive slowly down the gravel/dirt roads or after it starts as I go down paved roads. Once I get out on the highway back to eastern Montana it no longer squeals. Is this just dust getting on the pads causing the squeal or something I should be concerned about? I have about 111000 miles on the truck but most of it (90+%)on highway so do not think the brakes are close to being gone. Anyone else ever have this problem? Makes it real hard to sneak up on animals LOL.
