ats turbo?

hello,
just bought a 1990... question is did ats have a "turbo kit" of some kind? the turbo thats on the truck doesnt look like the factory job and the down pipe looks different as well. the boost gauge only goes to 15 lbs & i peg it every time i push the go pedal
just curious being new to the 1st gens and all.
