1991 transmission

Did all the '91 CTD's have a 518 tranny or did they change over to it during the model year?
I ask because I'm going to swap a 518 into my '89 CTD 4x4 and found a set of driveshafts on e-bay for a '91 CTD 4x4. If they are the right ones it would easier than modifing my old ones from 727 to 518.
