Hood insulation, to remove it or not
I've been thinking of removing the insulation from under my hood. The main reason for this is that whenever there's any snow it just stays stuck to the hood. Then it will freeze into a nice sheet of ice which really annoys me and it tends to fly off the hood in chunks when it decides it's time to melt. I expect that removal of the insulation would make the engine sound louder, but that's ok In addition, the engine heat would be able to melt any ice that's on the hood. Has anyone done this? Do you think there may be any negative effects from removing the insulation?
Cheers,
Sean
