Crack under Passenger Seat

New to the list. This is my first post so I hope I get it right. This was my late brother's truck that I inherited back in July. Just discovered under the passenger seat where it attaches to the floor board when tilted forward a 6 inch crack in the floor. I was under the truck working on it and looked up to see the stress crack and the carpet pad. Did not see any post's about this so I thought it might be some thing for you to check on your trucks. Now I need to see about getting it welded and reinforced. Always wondered why that passenger seat bounced around so much when driving, now I know it was not just the normal stiff ride of the truck.
