Exhaust Brake Problem
So I was working on my 93 this weekend...which needless to say I got for $5k so I guess that would explain half the problems I am having with the truck...But I have fixed most....
Noticed when I got the truck there was a Pac Brake exhaust brake installed in the truck but no signs of an in cab switch or any other way to turn it on....With a little research I found a wiring diagram at Pac Brakes website and started to do some troubleshooting....Found that the wiring harness was missing as well as the throttle position switch.
While trying to figure out what was going on with the Exhaust brake today I found a throttle position swith attached to the engine....Checked the swith and it was bad.....To insure this was my only problem I put 12v DC to the vacum silinoid to check if the brake itself worked.....When the truck was running and 12v was applied nothing happened....you could see the vacum lines move as you placed and removed the 12v but the brake would not move....Tried swapping the two vacum lines and still nothing happened.
So what I was wondering was, Is there a way to repair an exhaust brake and would anyone know where I could get another throttle position switch???
Thanks for the Help
James
