New question on FAQs

Bgilbert has posted a question regarding frequently asked questions that I would like to present to the larger forum. His question is in "Oh come on guys" that Daniel started. Read that also.

Bill, I would say post it here. Present it as a frequently asked question and see what the answers are. Organize the answers and submit the post to the Pastor. There are at least twenty regular truckaholics that will jump in I think.

We all have a specific area that we are more knowledgeable (comfortable) with and can contribute something. I don't doubt that the questions you would ask will spark some answers and perhaps some more questions. Daniel may have as much overall knowledge as any one on TDR. He clearly knows his truck and knows the systems. I for instance, know nothing whatsoever about FWD. Well it is mechanical and I know plenty about that. But I have not worked on one. In a lifetime I have had no application for FWD. That is not to say anything against FWD. Running on paved roads in good weather, I just don't need it.

I have sent a couple of things to the Pastor and some are not on yet. I can imagine that he only has so much time and will get them on sooner or later. We need to do the complete Q and A.

I also wonder if the FAQs will accomplish the desired result of bringing the newbie up to speed asap and diminishing the same question over and over. Most all the topics we discuss routinely have been on the forum and results can be found in the search capability. It isn't nearly as satisfying to look up the answer as it is to ask and get a personal response to "our" question from the group. But whatever, lets try it.

Love my trucks. Just got my son an 89. His only experience with diesel is a stinky, hard starting, underpowered, leaking old burb. Boy is he in for a surprise.
