cleaning up head studs for reuse?

has anyone ever had a set of studs come out of a truck that were pretty rusty at the block threads? i really dont want to get a new set if i can avoid it, i have a really good bead blast cabinet at work, and im wondering if i can remove the rust, and repaint the studs with a light coat of paint? thoughts or ideas on this one guys?? i apreciate any response. thanks guys.
