I was on the fence for awhile on this one... I have heard so many negative things about these engines, but after test driving a few of them I finally gave in...
I bought a leftover demo '08 Quad Cab 4x4 with about every option except Nav. The truck had 2500 miles on it.
I love the truck so far. I have put 600 miles on it, and the first tank got 18.1 mpg hand calc (500 miles, all interstate with the cruise set at 72 mph). This is better than my '07 did on the same route.
The only thing I don't like so far is the way the automatic tries to shift into OD so quickly and then cycles the TC lockup on and off. When I am in town I use the autostick to control this a little better.
