Lubricant for Cable Connectors

Hello, does anyone have a good solution for the problem of prying a 30A cable adapter off of the cable plug? When I have to adapt to 30A service, getting the 50A to 30A adapter back off requires a couple of flat head screw drivers and a few choice words.

There must be a better way, like a lubricant?
Thanks
