I had the solenoid go out on #3 at ~120k miles.

Fastest way I've read on this forum to track down which one it is (from SAG2), is to get the Miller Special Tool 9011, disconnect a line on the common rail and cap the port off with the #9011. Run it.

1.) Does it run the same or does the miss go away, then this is the injector.

or

2.) Does it run worse, then it is not this injector. Remove cap and reconnect line. Move cap to the next port on the common rail and test it.

Repeat until you find the bad one.

I did it the hard way and worked completely through the service manual troubleshooting flow chart.

Keep the #9011 handy in your glove box, in a small ziplock, for use blocking off a port if you ever crack a high pressure line from the common rail to a connector body out in the middle of nowhere.
