One of the noises happens right after the engine cranks and idles....I get this LOUD screaching sound for about 5-10 seconds and it stops abruptly. I'm thinking alternator or even the belt slipping and making noise from the increased load on the alternator right after startup.... This noise has only happened twice since May...and neither of them were on a cold-start.

The other noise is a faint 'ticking' when the truck is at idle...the noise increases in speed in a direct proportion to engine speed....but never gets louder. Oil level is full and is really clean (Pennzoil 15W40 heavy duty diesel stuff...with PureBase)....actually it's cleaner than my old gasser ever was and the oil has ~2k miles on it...due for change in 500 miles or so.
All my exhaust manifold gaskets look good too.....
