Where can I get a 17mm allen wrench?
Howdy,
I changed the lube in my 6-speed the other day and discovered that the fill plug takes a 17mm allen wrench. Luckily I was able to use a metric bolt that I had laying around to get the plug out so I could put fluid back in the darn tranny. What wingnut decided that they needed to use such an oddball size instead of a regular old 3/8 or 1/2 square drive like the engine oil plug uses, and why is it that you never think to check for nonsense like this *before* draining all the old oil out of the transmission?
Anyway, I'd like to have the correct tool for this but none of the auto parts stores around me have the right size allen wrench. Does anyone know where to find something like this?
