Tapping the pump wire, Anyone beat it yet?

Was wondering if anyone has beat the pump wire problem? I don't know where the wire leads from the vp44 into the rest of the wiring harness. Has anybody tried to trace it to see if there is a better place to tap into it, or possibly into a block or relay of some sort?

Also, is the vp44 included in the 7 yr/100k warranty? Or is it canceled at 36k like most of the stuff?
