radio static/grounding perhaps ????

Hello..

lately i've noticed the AM channel's that i listen to{talk} has alot of static, real bad when i drive down streets with overhead power lines, but today i'v noticed that when the wife opened the cover on the mirror on the sunvisor that the static got a little worse just for an instance, so i had her open/close the cover and it did it everytime, also when i use the turning signal switch i hear blinking in the radio, so i'm thinking it's the grounding points, i've notice just lifting the hood i see 4 grounds that i'm going to take apart and shine with steel wool, anybody have any other good suggestion on this, please tell me .................

thanks in advance...
