Help - Going CRAZY trying to change Headlamp Bulbs!!!

I took the battery out - HOW DO YOU REMOVE THE BATTERY BOX!!!

Several of us have spent about an hour trying to get these new lamps in - I have another truck here so I know which way they go in flt side up on the back - BUT IT won't go in....

Now need to take batteries out to get a straight shot --- any suggestions....
