how do I water proof my cummins engine floods and storms

if it floods in south florida from storms and such how do I keep water out of my engine.
vent tube and tail pipe
can I vent the valve cover
and add a stack tail pipe
I want to be able to get the hell out of dodge if we need to
if it gets bad
