Some quick questions about gauges
Today I pulled the gauges that came with my Banks Stinger, so I am looking to replace them. The boost was electrical and used the MAP sensor. The EGT was tied into the Ottomind box.
The TST box that I just installed uses the MAP sensor, so I am thinking that I will connect my boost on the compressor side of the intercooler. But I am not sure what is best.
Questions about boost gauges:- Connected to the compressor side, do I use the same port as the boost elbow?
- Connected to the manifold side, do I need to drill and tap a new port in the air horn?
- Any advantages to connecting to one side or the other?
The TST box also uses a EGT connection to enable automatic defueling on high EGT. I used the existing T/C that I had previously installed. I think I can use the post turbo T/C port in my Banks Brake if I need to, once a get another EGT gauge installed.
Questions about EGT gauges:- Can a single T/C drive multiple devices?
- Does the EGT gauge require external power, other than back lighting?
- Is the temperature difference pre-turbo and post-turbo linear?
Thanks for any replies;
Jim
