What's up with discontinued parts?
I learned a few days ago that my 1995 truck needs a new wheel speed sensor for the 4-wheel ABS. The dealer tells me that this part (#560 27947) has been discontinued, but NAPA has one for $290!
I told him that I’d get back to him. I found one on-line at newdodgeparts.com for only $96 plus shipping. So I ordered it, only to learn that it’s discontinued there too.
Since when does a manufacturer discontinue spare parts for trucks that are only 9-12 years old? (This part fits 1994-1997.) Isn’t this just when most truck owners will start looking for parts to replace the ones that are finally wearing out or breaking?
Does anyone have a source for this wheel speed sensor before I pay $290 for one?
It’s for a 1995 Dodge Ram, 2500, 4-wheel-drive, automatic, with 4-wheel ABS, left-front wheel.
Thanks for any help.
