Brake confusion!!!!!!!!!
I’m so confused!!!
I want to replace/upgrade the brakes on my 95. Now, Ill admit its been a while since I took them apart but I recall the last time I wanted to replace the rotors and I was told I have to purchase the hub and rotor on this truck as a unit for some outrageously high price. So I said to heck with it. I was told by 2 different Dodge dealers that the rotor and hub is an integral part and sold only as such with bearings and all. Was also told that the bearing and seals are not replaceable and I know for a fact, that “seal not replaceable, do not remove” is molded into the seal. I recall all this because the stupidity of this really upset me. I couldn’t believe you couldn’t replace the rotors without replacing the hub.
Now EGR says the rotor has to come off the hub and all of them do.
So which is it? Can anyone clarify this for me?
Tim
