Will '06 wheels fit my '98 truck?

I have a 1998 Dodge 3/4 ton Cummins 4x4 truck and was wondering if take off wheels and tires off a 2006 4x4 Dodge will fit it. I have 16" rims and the new are 17" rims. If not, is there an adapter to do this? Thanks, Herb
