Removing Rear Rotor

I have a 01 with rear disk brakes and need to replace the parking brake shoes. I have adjusted on them and do not seem to get any better results. I have adjusted the star wheel and not just the cable. Because it does not seem to hold very well I and other family members seem to be driving with the parking brake on for a little while before we realize it is on. I know that this has been posted before but I can not find it, but can someone please tell me how to get the rear rotor off and are there any tricks that I should know. Any information or a link to the instructions that are already posted would be greatly appreciated.
