Cruise control help

The cruise control on my truck (see sig) suddenly quit working. I get no cruise light on the dash. I checked the condition of all wiring under the left battery box. It is perfect. I checked the ground there and replace the switch in the steering wheel. I checked the brake switch and clutch switches, both seem good. I think that leaves the clock spring which was replace several years ago on recall or the E.C.M. If anybody has other thoughts I would appreciate it. I have no cruise control codes set although I do have a throttle sensor voltage too high and battery temp sensor voltage too high code set. If it does turn out to be the E.C.M would I be smart to go ahead and get a Smarty instead of just repacing the stock E.C.M? I have placed the cruise control switch in pay it forward for free if anybody can use it. Thanks in advance. Steve.
