1998 guys; I have some ????'s

I am looking very hard at a 1998 with a 12v and a manual trans. Here's a list of years I have owned:
truck#1 1997 truck#2 1999 truck#3 2002(new) truck#4 2001 truck#5 2001

I know the interior of a 1998 is similar to the 99-02, and I know the engine in this one is a 12 valve. Here are my questions;
1 Is the front end built like like a 99-02 or is the front end built like a 94-97?
2 Will a left over gauge pod from my 01 fit the A pillar?
3 Is there site or link that puts all the difference together. A place that says end to end how these truck is assembled-general data.
Engine, P-Pump#s(215?), trans(nv4500), Front axle, Rear axle, Trans case.

I have had all 24Valve trucks and really like the interior and cab, but I got REAL tired of the VP and the Lift Pump.
