Tire Sizeing Question.

My truck is a 2001,std trans. ,4x4, posi. rear end. It came with LT265/75 16 LR-E. From my 1999 truck I have a new spare LT245/75 16 LR-E.Could I purchase another 245 tire and run the pair on the rear. Then buy a 265 and use it with my new spare up front. Or vise versa , Could I rotate the pairs front to back to even wear. How much difference is there size wise between a 265 & a245. Thank a Bunch Poorboy
