No good deed ever goes unpunished!
Well, it is that time again. Corn is ready to pick. Each of the last 4 years, I have planted an acre of silver queen sweet corn and given away most of it to the associates at my work. This year, I finally got some rain and the harvest was great. I had so much that I had to haul it to work in my 5'x9' trailer. Also, I did not want people climbing and pawing all over my new-to-me truck to get their share. As expected, everyone got their fill and all are grateful. I started home yesterday after work and fell into that daze like every other day. After driving down my drive, I positioned to back up to my large trailer, which has been storing lumber for the deck I am building. I totally forgot I had that silly little trailer behind me and I backed up, jack-knifing the trailer and bashing my pass side rear quarter panel. I was so sick I damn near fell to the ground and puked! Now, I will have to teach myself body repair. There are several creases and kinks. No easily repairable mild dents, plus the paint cracked and chunked off.
I really have been sick all today and I am dreading calling a bodyshop Monday. I know I will have to fork over $500 or more.
Just wanted to share my miserable experience with the group!
David
