Okay guys... Here we go. I am sure someone has done this or tried it. I am wanting to take my duals off and switch to single wheels. I have no need to take the quarter extensions off.... So, I am trying to find out how wide of a tire/ rim combo I will need to go to make it all fit towards the outer most sides. Backspacing also is a critical calculation. I have thought about pulling the duals off and hanging a plumb bob and measuring back to the flange. That should give me the offset. But what size tires can a guy get away with in diameter (35"?) on a non to 2" lifted '01 4x4? What are the widest tires a guy can get away with on the front yet still stay in the 35" or less area? The last part would be also with taking the dually spacers off of the front. I have found some 20 x 12's thru Centerline as well as some tires in the 35" range from BFG and from Nitto. To wide? Maybe 10's in the front and 12's in the rear?
As crazy as this all sounds... it has a purpose. I am no longer hauling my heavy 5th wheel and I am sick and tired of getting stuck in the mud. Seeing how playing in the mud is part of my job... I can not avoid it.
Thanx in advance.
