Garnet paint falling off

Anybody else having adhesion/soft paint problems, particularly with Garnet Red? I have a Sept '00 built 2001 model from St. Louis plant.

This paint is really soft and chips/scratches very easily. I was successfully ignoring this problem until Saturday when I drove through a big rainstorm and found a dime-sized chunk of paint missing from the side of the hood where there had previously been a small chip. The original small chip had had loose edges to it, now the dime-size spot has loose edges as well. I bet I could strip the entire hood with a pressure washer

Haven't tried the ******* yet but I'm not expecting much cooperation.
