No cruise control??

Coming home from the central valley this weekend I tried to engage my cruise and it would not set? Cruise light came on but it would not engage! I had my e-brake on and thought that might be the reason. Checked it today with e-brake off and still no dice!
Leaving for Disneyland in the morning and may want to use it on the way down.
Any ideas??
