Strange brake problem

Installed Con-O clutch and at the same time installed firestone air bags on the rear. After getting the jobs done went for a test drive and had 30 lbs air in the bags to see what it felt like. Very surprised when I noticed I had a brake surge problem. It was pretty bad and the harder I stepped on the brake, the worse it was. Only thing i could think of was when the engine was lowered in the rear that maybe a wire broke that went to the abs brake system. It has front and rear abs. Couldn't find anything and adjusted the air bags to 15 lbs and the surging improved 100 percent. Went down to five lbs and the problem went away. I'm not to up on abs brake systems and can't understand why the brake problem with the rear end of the truck elevated? Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks
