A couple questions in regards to the 'edge EZ'

#1) Does it come with the 'x-monitor' thing , can this be run without...I already have guages.

#2) Who has the 48RE with the edge (or similar device) with NO trans upgrades? I intend to upgrade the trans at a later date but want to know how I'll be without it for a while.
I don;t tow much now and when I do it won;t be exceptionally heavy loads...meaning I;ll never be at or over GCWR.
