24 Volt air compressor

I noticed on the "On Board Air" web page there is an electric air compressor that runs on 12/24 volts and does the best job on 24. Our two bateries seem to be wired paralell and all of the acessories including the starter are 12v. Is there any point where the two bats are connected serial to produce 24v.
