Noise at shutoff

Solved my "clank" at shutdown....

Since new I've had the clunk & screech at shut down, (which everyone seems to have.) Recently the noise seems to have changed, no more screech of the belt & I'm noticing a more metallic "clank". (Just turned over 3K) Maybe always been there, just covered somewhat by the screech.

I suspected the cat as it has always looked too close to a crossmember, & sure enough while not touching, it was very close and when the engine shook a little, it would make contact.

But what appeared to be at first glance a "crossmember", is just a rear cross "brace" for the skid pan.
Loosened the four bolts and there was enough play to drop it down a 1/4" or so...just enough to stop my noise!
(It also would be no big deal to slot the holes a little for more clearance if needed...) good news as I wasn't looking forward to a dealer visit & have them mess with moving the exhaust around!

Side note... the screech stopped recently between the 2K & 3K mark... that because the engine has loosened up & is not stopping as quickly? or just that the belt has aged & is not as noisey???
