Help me out Here

My inlaws own (unfortuately) a 02 Duramax w/allison. There injectors just went TU in Kingsman AZ this week. Costing them $6,000 to get it fix. Sounds step to me. Does anyone remember where that information came from about GMC knowing the injectors were bad, A link would be great. I keep telling them to by a Cummins, know maybe they will listen....Thanks
