04 Ford...That's the miles...
Installed a hitch in a '04 Ford F250 tonight. I've known the guy for quite a while and BS'd a while during install. The truck has about 50K on the odometer now and it's on it's second engine--6.0l PS. The original motor that the truck left the plant with lasted..............are you ready for this...............4 miles. The details are a little fuzzy, but from what I gather, it somehow broke the crank, dealer replaced motor pre-delivery without telling buyer, buyer goes to different dealer to have some minor service work done early on, things ain't quite right and dealer #2 discovers cover-up. It's a company truck and I don't think anything more ever happened. No big discounts, buyback, or anything else. Don't know 'bout you, but I'd be seriously upset and I know for sure I wouldn't be driving that truck anymore.
Just thought I'd share a little "feeling good about buying a Cummins" story.
