My new exhaust install
Hello All,
I am pretty new to this site and have found all the info here very useful. I decided to go with the donaldson truck muffler 41" and the offset pipe from Diesel power products. I found them to be very helpful as well as my local Freightliner dealer ( where I bought the muffler). Let me break down the cost
Muffler $65.00
Pipe SS $89.00
Install $100.00
i thought about doing the install myself but after reading several threads I decided a c-note was well worth the money spent. Glad I did. If you are cosidering this route it is well worth the money. It would have been cheaper if I knew how to weld.
The results I am very pleased with the results. not much louder than stock at idle but when you get on it it feels like the turbo spools up quicker. A little more throaty but not overbearing. The EGT's with a stock muffler seem to be a little hotter than the Donaldson but I have not towed my boat yet. I will report back when I do. The stock muffler appears to be holding this motor back as well as the catylitic ,but oh well. I live in CA so I gotta keep it (cat) for now. I have included a link for my photos feel free to browse them and enjoy. Any questions just ask.
