KORE Race system installed.

After a year of personal debate (Chase or Race system?) and asking a lot of questions I finally took the plunge and ordered a KORE Race system from DRC (Greg Boardman). In a world of products with grand claims and purported benefits that often seem to let you down when they don’t perform as advertised this product actually delivers what it is supposed to do. It rectified the suspension deficiencies I felt my truck had from the beginning. I have felt that Chrysler built this truck to haul big stuff down the highway and never really meant it to go off road. I spend a lot of time traveling dirt roads and trails in my spare time. I haul a light weight popup cab over camper and tow a small trailer or smaller 4x4 for the really rough terrain. Prior to installing this system I had to slow way down to a crawl for washouts and bumps because this truck would routinely bottom out even over small stuff. I was used too much faster speeds in my old vehicle (’85 GMC w/Superlift, Rancho 9000, etc...). No more rear end oscillations over potholes, ruts, bumps and no more front end bottoming. The truck now stays in contact with the ground over the rough stuff at speeds faster than you really should be going. I took it out on a rough two track frequented by bikes and quads and let it rip. The truck ate everything I threw at it. Just when you think you’re in trouble a little braking coupled with a little power and some steering input and you’re on your way in total control. I got a few stares from the quad folks who had this look as if they were wondering who this crazy guy was in the giant 1 ton pickup and how did he not crash. Four wheel drifts at speed over washboards? No problem. This is not how I will normally drive this truck but I had to test the claims. I do like to drive fast off road but need this truck to last for a long time and I think it will, even longer with the plush ride provided by this system. Slower speeds off road feel lots better than before and highway driving gives you the sensation of floating on a cloud (subtle feel but its there). I was also a little leery of going with the heavy front springs that Greg recommended because in the past going that route provided a harsh ride but this turned out to be an unfounded concern. The ride is very plush and not harsh at all. We have a Hemi truck also (’03 2500) and will be installing the Chase system in a week or two so I am looking forward to comparing the differences in the feel of the two systems. Greg Boardman has been great to deal with (I think he was more exited than I was when I ordered the kit) and I can recommend him highly. So when you hear the stories of Greg or Kent giving a test ride blasting down the road at speed and not slowing at all for the curb or something else wild, believe it, it will do it. Finally the big question, is it worth the money it cost? I don’t know quite yet as it is a very costly system. I think it will be but time will tell.

PS: If you are in the Tucson, AZ area and need nitrogen for a system let me know and I'll provide it no charge.
