Annoying squeak on my '05

as I hit the 3500 mile mark, I am seriously annoyed at a squeak that seems to come from the transfer case lever.

Whenever slowing down, accelerating or hitting bumps while moving the transfer case lever makes a highly annoying squeaky sound. I can reproduce the sound (only if I'm moving) by pushing the lever to the right. If I hold it on the left, the noise goes away.

Anybody investigated and fixed that noise before by any chance? My past experience with dealerships is that they rarely ever fix those squeaks and rattles, so I might as well fix it myself.
