Differential Plug washer?????

Howdy!! My differential plug used to have a metal washer when it was new. Dealer forgot it one day and it leaked out the plug like crazy!! THey INSIST that it never came with a washer. I have since used a rubber washer from a garden hose.. works beautifully, but does anybody have a part #. Parts dept went and looked at a replacement plug and it had no washer. How weird is this!!!
