Lampout Indication

I have started to get the lamp out indication intermittently when I start the truck with the light off. When I switch the lights on to running or full headlamps the indication goes out. I am thinking a loose or corroded connection since when the current flows the indication goes away, am I out in space on this or am I at least within the atmosphere?
